Blown away
Absolutely brilliant. I wasn't expecting it to resound with me so much, considering it's ballet, and I'm a dude. But I totally understand that sense of paranoia and societal detachment from not having a life outside of work, as well as being a dependent, and I'm sure many can relate with that too. It's a wonderful glimpse into the female psyche too.
I'm not sure if I'm disappointed or satisfied with the ending however. I was half expecting the murder of Lily to be real, and for Nina to reach the ultimate point of development in which she finally breaks from her hallucinations and realizes the gravity of what she did in reality.
But then, everything just seemed to come together with that final shot and her "attainment of perfection".
So I guess, in the context of the film, you couldn't ask for a better ending.
