Did Jon....
Did Jon distract the dragon so Arya could get to the Night King? Was the dragon protecting non White Walkers from getting to Bran so the Night King could kill him?

shareBased on what I personally believe, id day “no” to the first question but yes regarding the 2nd. Jon I’m guessing had no way of knowing Arya was on her way to Bran. Which she found a way past but he didn’t.
The dragon was standing guard so no one could pass as to disrupt the Night King on his way to kill Bran.
Which leads me to this: The Night King should have made sure everyone else was dead before killing Bran. It was a smart trap by Bran, guess seeing the future helps things.
shareYou're making a mistake in believing that Bran sees EVERYTHING. He doesn’t. Remember last season where there was some stuff he missed & had to go back to check.
Like regarding Jon!s birth. He had to revisit that vision a 2nd time because he didn’t get it all the first AND it was only because of Sam that made him check.
No, Jon was overwhelmed and desperate. He had no strategy at that point other than "Don't get killed".
But it looked like he was ready to sacrifice himself, he left him self in the open unprotected and the dragon was getting ready to breath fire (ice)
shareI think he was being nobly stupid at that point, he knew he couldn't escape so he was ready to charge the dragon and die a hero rather than die hiding.
He does a lot of nobly stupid things.
As others already wrote, I don’t think he knew about Arya. He just wanted to get to the Night King and the Dragon kept blocking him.
I don’t think he tried to sacrifice himself or had any noble notions at all in the end when he screamed at the Dragon. I think it was out of frustration, being mentally and physically tired and having walked past his friends (for all he knew) getting butchered for a goal that he can’t reach. Same as the Theon situation- he was at a hopeless point where he wanted to scream and meet his enemy head-on... lucky for him that Arya had such good timing.
Oh, and the question about where Arya came from - she was on a upper level, so she probably climbed out of a window and used the roof and wall that surrounded the garden.
He did the same thing in Battle of the Bastards when he got lured into the middle of the field and it looked like he was getting run over by the cavalry. Just put up his sword like he was gonna fight them all.
