So many lump in the throat moments

Brienne vouching for Jaime

Sansa hugging a broken Theon

Grey Worm and Missandei planning for a future together away from Winterfell

Jaime, again, knighting Brienne

And Sam handing Heartsbane to Jorah in tribute to the latter's father

I must be going soft.

They were very moving scenes. I would add the scene with Davos and the brave little girl who clearly reminded him of Shireen.

reply

Didn't she died?

reply

Shireen is dead, if that’s who you meant.

reply

ok thanks

reply

That doesn't sound normal. A TV show shouldn't cause you to get a lump on your throat. Perhaps a visit to your doctor.

reply

Smart!

reply

I totally agree with all the scenes you listed, to me the best one was "Sans and Theon"

reply

Yes, that really got to me.

Sansa can occasionally come across as rather aloof (which is not a criticism by the way because in her case I believe it's a defence mechanism after all the horrible stuff she's endured, partly as a consequence of being too trusting), but in this episode she admirably let down her defences and displayed the compassion she's often had to suppress, post-Joffrey/post-Ramsay, firstly by vouching for Jaime on the recommendation of Brienne, and then, most touchingly, by hugging a broken Theon, someone who no doubt came to Winterfell legitimately fearing how he'd be accepted.
