Way to sow discord amongst close allies moments before a huge pivotal battle. Cheap attempt at drama, methinks.

He was waiting for the right moment and, unfortunately, them discussing her brother and his "Aunt" in the crypts made it inevitable.
Besides, he couldn't hide something being wrong very well..

If he didn't tell her now then he may never get a chance to, if one or both of them die. Sure Bran or Sam could have told her if but it would have meant more coming from him, and there's no guarantee they would survive either.
