What will happen in King's Landing?

The story assumes that Jon & Dany will defeat the White Walkers in Winterfell (maybe in the episodes 3 and 4) then go against Cersei. They have to, otherwise there's nothing interesting left to show in King's Landing. And they can't fight on two battlefields simultaneously because every men is needed against the Night King's army. Also Cleganebowl must happen, too.

I was thinking about that too. But there has to be some wrinkle with the Night King's deal though. And just a straight battle where they repel and defeat his army in the North seems too on-the-nose. It shouldnt be that easy. Maybe there'll be a defeat and retreat south first.

Retreat seems like a possible option.

It was revealed in Daenerys' vision that King's Landing will be destroyed and covered with snow. My guess is that it's somehow connected with the shifting of the Poles and 'Sun rising in the West'.
Also, all of that could be pretty symbolic (as most prophecies are).
Or that could be very well dropped by Weisz and Beniaeff due to them being void of source material since last season.

Yeah, well, Dany's vision of snow falling on the Iron Throne has more than one possible meaning. SNOW ON THE IRON THRONE, gosh, what else could that mean?

But yeah, Cersei isn't going to quietly die and let Danerys take her crown as well as her hot brother, she'll blow up the Red Keep before she lets a younger and more beautiful woman take it.

My theory is that all the heroes in the north will badly lose the battle at Winterfell and have to retreat back to King's Landing where they will make their final stand. They then lose again, and all the the white walkers take over King's Landing. The Night King even has his moment where he sits on the iron throne (which by then has frozen over). But then Cersei saves the day by lighting the fuse to the wildfyre that is hidden in the walls throughout the whole city, destroying the white walkers, making "burn them all" the ultimate foreshadowing all this time.

After all that? Perhaps a bit more game playing among the survivors until ultimately someone becomes the new king and/or queen.
