It's obvious to me now what will happen in the end.

Jon will assert his claim and alienate Daenerys. After much tension and threat of war, She will take off with her armies and dragon and leave Jon and the Northerners to deal with the Night's King alone. The dragon Jon rode will stay loyal to him.

There will be this epic Alamo-style battle at Winterfell against the undead and at the last minute when Jon is about to die in an aerial dogfight with his dragon vs the Night King and his undead dragon, Daenerys will swoop down on her dragon and save him and then either die valiantly or marry him and rule as his Queen. Sam will be the King's Hand. Cersei will be eliminated through her intrigues with Euron and Euron will be killed by Theon who will also die.

Jaime will die honorably saving Bran. Probably side-by -side with Bronn, who will betray Cersei. Tyrion will survive and decline all position and honors in favor of getting drunk with whores.

Not obvious at all, I think the business of rival claims to the throne will be settled quickly, with a wedding and a plan to rule together.

No, the ending isnt obvious at all, although I think Jon becomes king and Dany dies, as was foretold in the season 3 vision. But that's doesnt mean Jon lives out the series, maybe he's just king for a day.

I think the Night King ends up on the Iron Throne. He'll take Cersei as his Night Queen, and her and Jaime's son as his own, turning them both. Hey - if another character on the show is better suited to be the Night King's dream girl I don't know who she is. It'll be a strictly cosmetic change for Cersei. The personality's already there.

It doesn't make sense that the white walkers would kill everyone. They need humans to reproduce, and to keep up their army. You could easily imagine every village being required to pay a tribute every so many years of infants to be made into white walkers. And funerals would be outlawed. All the dead belong to the Night King.

If they lose the war, what's left of Daenerys and Jon's forces and their allied houses may sail off across the ocean looking for a new home. This isn't Earth, the land masses are different, but there's probably at least one New World waiting for them on the other side of the planet where the walkers can't follow. They've said the ending will be tragic, so why not? Defeat, conquest, the loss of their homeland, with a sliver of hope for the future somewhere else.

That's what helps to makes this show so compelling, because we have no idea how it will end.
