Just read an article stating they'll not get scripts and be fed their lines through earpieces while shooting. Makes sense in a way but dang. I'm guessing they'll still get to read scripts, just not get hard copies to keep, otherwise it'd be like they're filming improv. I worry this will have a negative impact on the acting though.

shareAgreed. My guess is they'll still get to prepare, but it'll be more in the form of supervised time with the scripts to go over them and memorize what they can, on-set only, and the filming with earpieces as a precaution.
On one hand, I feel a bit offended on the behalf of the actors.
On the other, I get it, because people suck and someone out of the cast would be bound to think "I'll sell this, make an extra buck, they'll never trace it to me, and it's not like they can fire me from a show that's ending." Even though it would blackball them in the industry. Then again, some of their careers will peak with this show. Just sad they might be that way, like, at least you made it to the end of the run, so you were treated well in that regard.
Sounds like a great way to ensure they screw up the final season.

shareThis can't possibly be true. These actors in this show are not Marlon Brando, able to pull of a convincing/good performance reading cue cards. I mean this would be disastrous. The performances would be rubbish. And it would be glaringly obvious.
This has got to be misdirection so the actors don't get pressed too hard in interviews for reveals and also so they have a common excuse to hide behind.

I hope they at least tell each actor what their character arc is going to be, even if they don't tell them anything.about the other characters. And the directors, how can the directors do the job without seeing the script?
Well they did do a read-through of the final season last weekend. Literally saw an article like an hour ago with Kit Harrington on it. It was of course vague, but he's quoted as "I know everything now."
