Ep 1 was everything I wanted and more

Favorite moments:

1. Opening scene Arya's revenge. totally epic. I saw every moment coming, it was not a surprise but it was still so satisfying. get it girl.

2. Loved The marching army of Wights, the zombie giant! Such a short wordless scene but told a great deal of storytelling just from that one image.

3. Bran & Meera arrive at the wall. When word gets back to Jon & Sansa, won't Bran take precedence over both of them in the order of succession? He's the oldest surviving legitimate male offspring of Ned Stark. But he's a cripple and a child, so maybe the lords of the north will still prefer a grown man to be their king?

4. Sansa & Jon already butting heads. Saw that coming. Sansa actually had the better idea (rewarding the loyal) but she was stupid to contradict Jon in front of everyone. They are stronger as a unified front, they should not let underlings see them arguing. It's like mom and dad fighting in front of the kids.

5. Cersei and Jaime on the giant map. Basic expository scene that was a good summing up of where all the houses align.

6. Euron's ship is so fucking cool! All black ship with black sails and that amazing kraken on the prow. It's a work of art! Euron is going to get Cersei an engagement gift. What do you think: Dragon's head, or Tyrion's head?

7. The citadel is another amazing piece of scenery! The design of that chandelier- it's made of small mirrors that reflect the sunlight from the oculus into every dark corner of that vast library. Super cool, reminds me of something Da Vinci would have invented.
Why do the soup bowls at the citadel look just like the bedpans? Why does the soup at the citadel look just like the diarrhea? Why is the grandmaester so nonchalant about the Night's King and the coming winter? it's not really comparable to the end of human dynasties.

8. The way Tormund looks at Brienne. Tells Podrick he's a lucky man to have his ass beat by Brienne.

9. Arya and the soldiers. I actually loved this scene. Mostly we have been following the lives of noblemen and kings, big players on the chessboard, and this was a nice look at the lives of the pawns. They just want to live their lives, they want to help their families... I kept expecting them to try to rape Arya or something but they were so simple and decent and generous to a stranger.

10. The hound and Beric Dondarian. The hound has the sight now. And we know where the army of dead is at. The hound burying that father and child that he left to starve. Good scene. I kept expecting the corpses to resurrect while he was burying them.

11. Who is the mysterious prisoner in the Citadel? Did that arm have greyscale? Is it Mormont? Maybe that's a hospital ward, not a prison?

12. Dany's homecoming to dragonstone was epic and gorgeous. I don't really understand the strategy of stopping there instead pf going straight to Kings Landing, but it was an awesome scene.

I loved it too. That opening was perfection. EVERYTHING a GoT fan could ask for with that opening. Those bastards deserved that and more. Also loved Arya telling those soldiers she was going to kill the queen and the laughter...and the way she smiled and laughed too...like it was ridiculous...but we and SHE know better.

Was amazing, though, I was expecting more death. Yes, I know, we had the big mass murder in the opening, which was amazing. But I thought that we'd probably see one or two named characters snuff it. Here's to next week ;)
