References to Predator ??

What are the references to Predator ??

reply

I believe the reference to predator was during the scene when the director had just blown up and Tuggs didn't believe it was real. Then the explosion guy set off the bombs he had set up in the trees and then Tuggs started firing into the woods which led to all of them firing into the woods even though they saw nobody. The Vietcons were there but they were not seen. If you saw the movie predator there was a scene where one of the men were just killed by the alien and his friend thought he caught a glimpse of a figure in the trees and started firing wildly into the trees. The other men came running and even though they didn't see anything they just started shooting into the trees because the other man was shooting. Watch both scenes again and you'll see the reference.

Ok thanks. I'll probably watch the whole movie again.

No. Meaning, not the more obvious.
The key reference to Predator is when Ben Stiller stabs the panda to death, whereas in Predator the black LMG gunner, big friend of Jesse Ventura (never remember his name) kills a wild boar. They filmed it the very same way, and I would not be surprised if the number of knife stabs were the same. Check it out.

Another, much weaker reference would be the "Get out of the choppaaaaa" line somewhere at the beginning (or middle? Don't remember) of the movie, reminding the "Run! Get to the choppaaaaahhh..." in Predator.
Cheers

I agree with the panda reference but firing wildly into the trees was also a reference from predator.
