I liked the movie so much and I thought it was really sad, but I kept wondering where was the father and how could he rape precious so many times without the mother reporting him or do something about it, she said he started to abuse her daughter sexually when she was at the age of 3 I was confused , how many time did he rape his daughter and how the mother kept this filthy monster in her house ??

I watched the movie several times before I saw this. but during the rape scene with the father, Mary is standing right in the doorway listening & watching.
