One of the best movies I've ever seen
All performances were Top Shelf. Viola Davis put in the best 5-10 minutes of work I've ever seen. I tend to dislike ambiguous endings, but that is what made this movie so incredible.
Did he, or did he not do it. I personally think he did. Not only because of Donald, but because of the other kid William. He was genuinely scared of Father Flynn. He flinched at the man when the kids were coming into school, in the gym when he saw his nails, and had disgust towards him on his face when they were gathered at the table girl-talking. There was definitely something going on there.
I think he cut William lose for Donald. A relationship with Donald being an abused black kid in the 60's would be more of a secure and "safe" relationship than one with a brash-acting white boy who may eventually run his mouth.
Movie is a 10.
