Regardless of what other humans might do, those in the US take to it with extraordinary relish, whether it be during the historical slave trade, the slaughter of native Americans for their land, or modern practices like rendition to secret bases for purposes like those in this film. It's not an accident that the US has, for instance, a far higher proportion of its citizenry incarcerated for the term of their natural lives than any other so-called "civilized" country on the planet, and in fact a higher proportion than the next four countries on the list put together. The US has never valued lives very highly, unless perhaps it's those of entertainment celebrities or the ultra-rich.
You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
Haha what a joke, this is the brain washing of modern times. I'm not American so I say this completely objectively.
There were other slave trade periods that could be considered worse and/or lasted longer like the Arab slave trade of Eastern Europeans that lasted until the 19th century and MUCH more violent ones than the American period in times passed.
The slaughter of natives for their land? Did you ever hear of this place called SOUTH AMERICA?! Spanish conquistadors, small pox blankets, etc. or any other conquering of civilizations in history
Secret bases like in the film? You do realize that these kinds of bases are only a big deal because it's NOT the norm and UNACCEPTABLE to the majority of Americans. While this is the NORM in the majority of countries in the world
And the prison thing is more to do with MONEY, than violence.
Lives are more highly valued in America than the majority of countries (especially when compared to the other mass populations like China, Russia, India and Brazil)
It is sad you probably think you're so intelligent (not saying you aren't but you're ignorant) spouting these things. But this is how the masses have been programmed to think these days. Pure brain washing.
Whereas you think you're smarter and better-informed and more insightful?
Here's what you missed in your intemperate tirade: I didn't say the Americans were the only ones who did any of those things. I said they excused it because others did it too. I know, it's an easy point-scoring method to say things like "You DO realise ..." and follow it with things that aren't germane to the point the other person was in fact making, but mate, it also shows a distinct lack of intelligence or ability to have a reasoned conversation. You may not be American (that, by the way, doesn't automatically make you objective), but you sure talk like one.
Excuse me a moment, I'm off to wash the bile off my shoes.
