It IS religion's fault. People do terrible things because of various reasons, but religion can make people so deluded, that in the scenario presented in the film some of them would be willing to sacrifice their children because, if tortured in a "holy war" they will "go straight to heaven".

Islamic aggression has not spared even Philippines, Thailand, Sri Lanka, China, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Sudan, East Timor.

Also the fault of the Jews that Iranians took hostage the American Embassy just like it's the fault of the Jews that 200 years ago the same Safavid Islamists massacred Aleksander Griboyedov and his entire embassy staff for giving shelter to enslaved Armenians in Teheran.

Religion is inherently evil, you could, as many do, argue that it is in fact mans interpretation of Religion that causes evil, but the truth of the matter is Religion is dangerous, it is designed to control and segregate, you read any religious text, they all talk about "Non believers, heathens, infidels etc"

Anyone who puts their faith and core beliefs in a book, written thousands of years ago is in my opinion, mentally deficient. These books, the Quran, the Torah, the Bible, have ALL been re-written many times. Just look at the Bible, it is a known fact that there were an incomprehensible amount of parts that have been removed, altered edited and in some cases, erased altogether.

Now, for the balance of power I will also point out that the Quran, during the prophet Muhammad's life was NEVER written down, there is no written account nor copy of a Quran ever existing during his life time. But, there are records that Muhammad himself changed the way he recited it.

These books are nothing more than dangerous methods of control and division, in their time, they had a place. They brought law and order to a chaotic world, but in the modern era we have no place for such archaic and in some cases simply barbaric rules and regulations.
