How did the 'future people' in the space ship reproduce to create the next generation?

These humans had changed to such an extreme state of obesity that they didn't exercise or even stand up. So my question is how could they have reproduced? It's quite an active thing. Was the AI at such a controlling state that this was done artificially to the humans as a standard thing.
A bit like the matrix I guess.

I assumed they were made via test tubes and in incubators and such. They don't explain it because it's not something for kids to really think about, but it seemed pretty obvious to me that the people were not reproducing the traditional way.

I doubt they even inseminate the woman, by then (700 years in the future for them, but probably even more for us) they probably have all needed to do it without the mother (well after getting the ovule..).
