One of the only films of Disney/Pixar I actually enjoyed...

as well as one of the best films of all time. Let me get this straight: For the most part, I loathe Disney. They are overrated and use storylines repeatedly with minor changes. However, Wall-E was so incredibly dark that I was shocked this was Disney. The way it explored loneliness and consumerism was deeply explored and it made for a great film.

It was a little grittier than previous Disney films.

Just for the record, Disney has traditionally had very little input into pixar films. So, pixar and disney are separate, i.e., you don't have to dislike pixar because you dislike disney. Also, most recent disney films are produced by pixar personnel.
