This is an interesting movie. It gives a bittersweet feel, because so much more could've been done with the premise and the story, and it has so many illogicalities and things that do not make sense -- but at the same time, it's one of those movies, where a movie has SO incredibly much potential, and yet doesn't reach more than a small percentage of that potential.
It leaves you not only hungry for more, but wishing that it had explored certain things, paths and possibilities more - it leaves you sad, because you know what it COULD have been, but in the end, wasn't.
It's also interesting, because it's practically impossible to not watch it 'periodically' - or 'from time to time'. You just get the craving to see it again after enough time has passed.
There's something about this movie - it almost feels 'realistic' sometimes, and very immersive. You can almost include yourself amidst the three nerds talking about movies and stories and what's wrong with the hollyweird, and you almost start a dialog with the likeable guys, and then you realize it's 'just a movie'.
The movie falls short in so many ways, it doesn't quite deliver what the premise promises.
This is made worse by the excellent performances, really good music, nice onscreen presence, charisma, production quality - - pretty much everything about this movie is so well done, that it underlines and emphasizes just how hard it falls short of its promise.
Time travel is such an interesting premise, and yet this movie squanders it with very narrow and confined area instead of truly exploring inter-chronological existence, and just runs back and forth between horror and weirdness and of course 'injected romance' (sigh).
But there is something about this movie, you just have to watch it again and again..
