Also, why would they expect the whole "pouring beer over the paper"-thing to have worked when the very first time around when the first dude sees everyone dead, we hear the pint also being knocked over and that time it didn't work, since the rest of the movie still happened? Or am I missing something?
Another thing, how could the future people constantly come back in time and try to rectify stuff when the future itself was so fluid and inconsistent? Doesn't seem to work unless the (2) travelers themselves are somehow unbound in time, but still somehow receive information from an hypothetical unaltered future as to what went wrong and what they should alter etc? Sounds weird. Moreover, it is only later that we are introduced with parallel universes. Or is it what it was all along? If yes, it's weird to make the distinction clear between time travel and parallel universes at the very end. They made it look like 2 different things.
Anyway, i agree, it started really well but went rather off-track from the middle onward. Had some genuine laughs here and there, but that's about it. Too campy and childish at times for my taste. But some good ideas and laughs here and there prevented it from being completely unredeemable.

People who don't like their beliefs being laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefsī²
