I understood most of this film until the very end when Gina's doppelganger held up the x-ray of which was obviously the previous Gina's lungs. The x-ray showed the lungs were diseased but what was the relevance? Was it that Gina was dying anyway? This hasn't been discussed on the boards and I'm hoping someone will know the answer. Thanks.
I thought the idea was that the X-rays were the ones taken of the doppelganger herself when she was admitted to the hospital after her car accident. The reason why it looks like she has the "heart on the wrong side of the body" condition is that she's a mirror image of a normal person. I think that explains why she quickly took the X-rays down before the other guy with her could notice her name on them, and why she immediately threw them out. I think we're meant to guess that the patient with that condition whose X-rays the real Gina was examining at the beginning of the movie may have also been a doppelganger.
