Ø in Brøken...

I find it extremely annoying that they are using characters in a title that doesn't belong in the word.
It is just about as serious as deciding that from now on it is a brilliant idea to replace all C's with Q's.

Furthermore it is removing the foqus from the aqtual movie, to a detail that hasn't got anything to do with the plot!

Hollywood should show a little more respeqt for the Sqandinavian letters, and that inqludes ÆØÅÄÖ!

I found it kinda dumb too because at first I thought the movie wasn't in English because of that letter. But then in the opening sequence the O has a slash through it. However, I still think they should have put it like "The Broken" here, cause imitating the font as it appears in the movie is not usually done.

Thanks for this little clue! The wikipedia entry on vardøger says:

"The vardøger or vardøgr is a spirit predecessor, from Norwegian folklore. Stories typically include instances that are nearly déjà vu in substance, but in reverse, where a spirit with the subject's footsteps, voice, scent, or appearance and overall demeanor precedes them in a location or activity, resulting in witnesses believing they've seen or heard the actual person, before the person physically arrives."

This of course fits several scenes in the movie to a t.

Of course, then the wikipedia entry describes the vardøger as less sinister than the doppleganger, which isn't exactly the case, but it looks like the screenwriter was inspired by the notion of the vardøger, and maybe that's why the title has the ø in it, as a kind of reference to this.

Also, I think it's supposed to represent a whole divided into 2 parts.

I believe the only reason for the Ø is that it looks like a broken mirror, which is obviously connected to the plot, despite what the original poster said. It's just a stylistic choice. I don't see anyone complaining about Se7en.
