shareI wouldn't call the movie "great" or even "really good", but perhaps your ignorance of the meaning of the word is somehow related to your inability to judge movies properly... I mean, "terrible" is a really strong word to throw around. There's a lot of very impressive and wonderful aspects to this [very flawed] movie.

The term doppelganger is used describe someone's identical twin. In many works of fiction, the evil twin is implied to be evil or have nasty intentions. Movies such as THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF have executed the idea more than 30 years before THE BROKEN. Although in THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF, one character has one doppelganger. All other characters are normal.
One of the many problems with THE BROKEN was to choose to make the whole family have doppelgangers when the story could have worked better if only the main character had one. The other doppelgangers allowed for some creepy scenes but also against the backdrop of another plot twist - that the evil Gina would surely not have forgotten that she is the evil Gina even after the accident.
