Has anyone here ever read 'William Wilson'?

The movie starts off with a quote from "William Wilson" -- the short story by E.A. Poe.

If you've read it, do you have any thoughts about how THE BROKEN either expands or deviates from the themes of Poe's story?

(Honestly, I'm just kind of sick of seeing the 10,000 or so threads here by people decrying the lack of plot, blood, guts, etc. in this film... I don't think this was supposed to be "that kind of movie"...)

ETA: You can find the short story here (http://www.online-literature.com/poe/47/) if you're interested in reading it. Any discussion would be greatly welcomed! TIA.

Yep, I love Edgar Poe's work.

There's also a (short) film made of 'William Wilson', one of three stories in 'Histoires Extraordinaires' (1968). Starring Alain Delon (Wilson) and Brigitte Bardot.
And ofcourse there's the silent classic 'The Student Of Prague', another doppelgaenger story.

In my opinion, 'The Broken' combined the classic individual doppergaenger with the sci-fi nationwide 'Invasion Of The Body Snatchers'.
