Why did the first mirror during the family dinner actually break?? I mean no one came through it??

Actually, the first mirror falls because it was already unstable by the time everyone sat down.
When the father thinks someone has broken into his house, not realizing it's his family waiting to surprise him, he barges through the doors which knocks over a coat rack which is shown falling over and bumping into the mirror, causing it to hang crooked.
Wasn't the first broken mirror the one at the construction site behind Stephan. It shatters and he says something along the lines of "Gotta go before one of these guys kill themselves." Also I just realized that that statement is quite ironic.
