Who or what was Kim Bubbs?

Was she the camp pleasure girl? the cook or maid? She is never really revealed
to be a scientist but she's there. WHY? When she strips off her clothes in a
melting almost snake cobra like shedding fashion to attack Kate she is smiling
as the claw protrudes out of her womb like she's getting off on the feeling.
Watch for the wide eyes and wider grin on her face its creepy.

When she next attacks a man she impales HIM the opposite of sexual intercourse.
then when the others run in she is doing a PG 13 rocking with her groin going
up and down over his basic crotch area gyrating with her head thrown back in a
big smile as she looks towards the shocked group as if to say look what I CAN
do.

It was not a normal thing killing. If such a thing there is. The first one
that seemed to have subliminal sex added.

Did anyone else see this?

And c'on who has a name like Kim Bubbs? Is that a joke name?

LOL, Her character "Juliette" was first introduced at the spaceship crash site as a Geologist so that was her job at the Norwegian Base.

Wow spookydblack... that's uh, a hell of a description!

I personally didn't read "intercourse" in that scene. Nor did I see Juliette (Kim Bubbs) smiling at any point let alone, "gyrating her" groin against that dude. Since you mention it though, I see where you're coming from as far as the sexual vibe.

I'm a big fan of the 1982, "The Thing." So the way Juliette attacks really is a new addition to the thing universe. There's a couple of CGI mis-queue's but overall, it's a cool way to show how crazy effective it can attack someone.

...And by attacking them, I mean absorbing them &/or depositing enough material for the Thing to impersonate it's new host's identity.
