How Did They Get Out Of The Ice In The Beginning?

I've seen this movie 3 times and I'm not sure if I'm just being daft or what.. but how did they get out of the ice at the beginning of the movie? The Snowcat or whatever the 3 Norwegians are driving across the ice cracks and falls like 100 feet into a cavern. The Snowcat is wedged between the two walls of ice with it's nose facing down with no way for the 3 men to escape or climb up the wall of ice. How did they get out? They seem to just gloss over this and we see the characters perfectly fine a few scenes later.

Nope, you're not being "daft" at all. It's a fair question - and no answer is ever given.

I assume that the 3 dudes in the Snowcat that fell into the crevasse radio'd for help, and their team drove out there and lowered a rope - seems like a plausible answer. (I guess it's SO plausible, that it's not even addressed!)

IMDB - Because some Trolls need more than just a bridge

I assume they used whatever equipment they had at the station. I don't think it hampered anything in the film or it's progression, but a thirty-second scene hinting at some sort of explanation would have been nice.
