Yes, that was a shame. But his response seemed un-Thinglike to me. He wasted precious moments in real or pretend astonishment over the discovery and/or Winstead's new view of him. I was thinking that the "Thing we know" would have lashed out a deadly appendage and killed Winstead before she had a chance to turn on the flame...

Yeah. I saw something brewing there too, though I liked Edgerton better than Winestead (think that's her name). If one of the two had to be the thing, I was hoping it was Kate, even if she was the POV character.
