Confusing thing-logic

Okay, some queries.

The thing can't immitate non-organic material, hence why it pushes out the metal wrist support, or spits out the tooth fillings. Does that mean the wrist becomes broken again, or does the Thing heal/repair the bones? What about the teeth? Wouldn't there be big gaps holes, and the nerves become very sensitive?
If someone had a heart-pacer, then the person-thing would have heart-problems.

At the end, she tells him he was wearing ear-rings. He feels his right-ear, but she says it was on his left-ear. the thing is meant to know the persons memories, knowledge, etc... so how could he not know which ear he has his ear ring on?

I think it will take over the broken wrist, not actually broken but more like it looks broken????? It duplicates the outside, but still is an alienform inside?????

Good question, especially about the heart bit. I'll have to see if there's a commentary on my 80's version that goes into that because one of the characters from the first movie actually did have a heart issue that I think the Thing copied, to the degree that the guy/Thing suffered a heart attack.

I believe it copies the DNA and creates from that. A DNA copy would have no injuries that had been repaired including teeth fillings. We don't know much about the things regenerative capabilities but we must asssume that any heart problem would be repaired or made workable in some way.

but, didn't the thing use the heart issue to 'play possum' in order to kill the doctor?
