New 'Jesse Stone' novel

The author of the Jesse Stone novels, Robert B. Parker, has just released his new JS novel entitled "High Profile".

The author also has a series of a PI named Sunny Randall. In the novel "Blue Screen" which was released last June, Jesse meets Sunny and falls in love with her. Now Jesse is in love with two women, Jenn and Sunny.

Sunny will become a new character in the JS movies.

Good! I'm sure Sunny won't be played by Helen Hunt. RBP originally wrote the first three Sunny Randall books as a deal with Sony to get them made into films and Helen Hunt would star. Too bad it did not work out - I think it would have been fun to watch.

While I enjoy Tom Selleck as Jesse Stone, I always imagined someone younger as Stone. I think Selleck (without the moustache) would be perfect as Spenser (Robert B. Parker's main novel-based character which launched RBP as a writer) but it's also too bad that will not happen since Selleck is already cast as Stone.

I also just read that Selleck turned down the "Vegas" lead role that RObert Urich won, and Urich went on to be Spenser in the "Spenser for Hire" TV series.

Life is stranger than fiction...
