Anyone recoginize the piano piece played at the end? Any ideas how to find out? I was very good and fit the mood well, I would like to play it.

shareI am not very familiar with Brahms works, but searched high and low on line. I really liked the piece he played. The Intermezzos were the only pure piano solo's I found. Try amazon.com and you can listen to "Brahms: The Complete Intermezzos." I'd wager it's in there and I may just buy the CD myself.
shareI thought the piano music was beautiful, too, and did a little research. Until I read ajw27-1's post mentioning Brahms I'd been unsuccessful, but armed with that, I found the citation in my __Dictionary of Musical Themes__. It's Brahms' Intermezzo in A, Op. 118, No. 2.
shareThis is absolutely correct. There are two fine CD recordings I'd recommend:
Radu Lupu's on London CD (all Brahms) and one with other similar contemplative pieces, played by Carol Rosenberger, called "Such Stuff of Dreams". For those who like this piece, I'd highly recommend they try Chopin's "Nocturnes".

I just saw the repeat of this tonight and knew you all would have the same question: what was that Brahams piece?
Through the magic of my DVR, I freeze framed it to the point where I could definitely see that the title on the LP cover was "SEVEN PIANO (glare and Selleck's collar)."
According to wikipedia:
Op. 116, Seven Fantasias for piano (1892)
Op. 118, Six Pieces for Piano (1893)
So I think op. 116 is likely the correct choice, unless the producers messed up and gave Tom a op. 116 album while playing op. 118.
Regardless, the next time I hit the library, I'm checking both of them out.

I always thought the lovely piano cue for Stone (his theme) was created by Jeff Beal???
