Any chances of a regular TV series

It's great seeing Tom Sellick back on the small screen; even if it is in the 4th made-for-TV; Jesse Stone series. Wonder if there are any plans to turn this series into a weekly one hour TV show. I don't think he's starred in any regular TV series since his days on Magnum; PI.

Stick with the movies - as in don't turn Jesse Stone into a TV series. Too much of a good thing.

Call me crazy, but I recall such made-for-TV movie series such as Columbo, Perry Mason, or McLeod working quite well for the networks. Maybe there's a chance of that possibility coming about; like one every couple of months. I agree with BellaBB that this rolebest suits TS since his days as Magnum.

Well we did have two movies last year. I think one every few months would be okay but don't forget it takes time and money to film these things. You have to fly to the location where the movie takes place set up and then film it.

Stuff like that takes you away from home which is probably why there not too many movies in one year.

True enough. However,we are running out of Audie Murphys,Brian Keiths,Clint"Cheyenne"Walkers{still living}Richard Harris and they are being replaced by 24 year old men with too tight face lifts so...............!

I would love to see Tom Selleck in this role on the small screen. I think many would.

Tom is in his 60's now. He says he enjoys making the movies but it takes him away from his family on the opposite coast.

I heard that Tom's gonna be the new hotel owner in "Las Vegas".

You mean he works for less than James Caan? I thought Caan was not renewed as a cost-cutting move.

reply

I heard that Caan wanted to go back to movies. Money might have also been a reason, but it didn't look like Caan would have fought them too hard about the decision if that was the only reason.

A TV-series would have a small town police chief solving a murder or something every week whereas the films, which have taken place over a period of 5+ years, have had him solve a money laundering ring, 2 murders(actually multiple but by the same people), and a cold case bank robbery...a TV-series would completely throw off the pace of the film...as you can tell from the "Sea Change" they slowed up the pace to show a little realism about a small town cop getting bored...just my opinion of course...
