Am I missing something?

Hank makes it clear from the start that he never cheated on Karen. She tells him that she wishes he was having an affair because that would make it easier. It would let her off the hook for having an affair with Bill. She leaves Hank for Bill, moves in with him, marries him, all the while keeping Hank on the hook. Every time she reels him in he makes it clear that all he wants is to be with her, but she always cuts him loose and then gets mad at him for the things he does as a single man. How is Hank the bad guy within the confines of their relationship? Sure, Hank is flawed, but he is actually the most honest character on the show. He is honest with every woman he comes in contact with, and to his own detriment, completely honest with Karen because, if you think about it, all of his "questionable" behavior happens outside of their relationship. Karen is a psycho. And don't get me started on Becca. Has there ever been a more annoying, more insufferable character on television?

I'm completely with you on this. She definitely without a doubt is the most infuriating character ever on a tv show. I don't get the point of her. Are we supposed to like this woman? I can't stand her. I am a woman and even I don't side with her. She is psychotic and so is Becca. I don't understand Karen's or Becca's problem with Hank. He loves and adores them and fights to have them and keep them in his life. Isn't that enough right there?

If that isn't enough, he really doesn't do anything wrong. If it's a crime to drink or smoke then we all should be locked up, including Karen. The only thing Karen has against Hank is the statutory rape thing. I can understand Karen flipping out about the statutory rape thing-but even then Hank wasn't really doing anything wrong to his knowledge. Are you supposed to card every person before you sleep with them now? I can understand how he made that mistake and didn't consider that she might be underage. If he DID know she was underage, then I might have a different thing to say about it, but she looked fairly older than that and it's understandable how he made that mistake and he didn't sleep with her or do anything with her again. He made sure to stay away from her in that way. That right there should have been enough for the judge and jury. He did not pursue a relationship with Mia. I understand about Karen freaking out at first but overall, she should have understood how he made that mistake, but even that I can kind of let slide. There are so many thing that Hank does to help others out and Karen just is quick to blame everything that goes wrong on him. I wish Hank would just walk away from this bitch and her daughter already, but it's five seasons in, sadly I see that he's not walking away, but I guess if we didn't have them in it we wouldn't have any drama to keep the show going. 

I just don't get what Hank sees in Karen or Becca. I think that's Hank's biggest mistake. It's sad that he loves them so much and they don't give a damn about him. He deserves a lot better.

I'm a Timelord.
Right, not pompous at all then.

Karen is a total hottie, and Becca is his daughter for Christ's sake. You have to have unconditional love for your kids!

Karen did provide a source of drama, as did Becca. However, by the second season, I was hoping Hank would ditch Karen and move on with his life. It's a flaw of the show that she's put on a pedastal/high horse so often. The viewer is supposed to accept that she's an amazing, beautiful woman. Characters tell us so... "Way too hot for this asshole" (paraphrased).

Hank only calls her on her bs once or twice, and she is only called on it by anyone else in the last episode of season 4 (the end of the story before Kapinos likely got an offer he couldn't refuse). And even then, it's just a quick moment when she's on the witness stand, and quickly ends.

I had no love for Karen.
