Repetition

I literally just finished the show tonight. Loved it and the ending was great. But the one thing I didn't like was the repetition. How many times did Karen have to walk in on Hank with his hand in the cookie jar?

Yeah, the show is formulaic in the extreme. It is almost like they came up with a rough sketch for the show, a basic starting idea, and just never developed it further. they added short subplots of course.
But the arguments between Karen and Hank are just recycled over and over. Becca's whining is done over and over as well.
It got to the point I just about knew what each one was going to say ahead of time. And I stopped caring.

The writers needed that conflict. Then Hank could leave again and get laid some more. More gorgeous women. Then they get back together for a while.
Then something would get on Karen's nerves and they would have a separation period again.
That plot device was a constant (at least up through the first 4 seasons; I am not done yet).

My god I am tired of Becca, and tired of watching Hank fail to defend himself, and tired of hearing Karen say the same things to Hank over and over.

I loved the show at first. But it is so predictable now and the whining and bitching is getting old.
