Would love to see a complete series set of this in 4K, i know it would look beautiful, heck even the dvd's look great, i could only imagine how good this show would look in 4K.
Plus i'd feel alot better about not getting the barrel back in the day if a slick 4K set got released lol.
i found a season of this show at a pawn shop for only 1$ or maybe it was even free. got season 3 and 6 of the Sopranos for free just giving a pawnshop a free review and like on facebook. i always pirate my programs but if i am hunting for retro videogames at the pawnshops and find a special show i really like i pick it up. have a copy of season 1 of Jackass aswell. nothing like having a physical copy of the show and playing it on a old ps2 to bring back the nostalgia of the good old days
It depends if this was shot on film or digital. If it was shot on film, then definitely, but if it were shot in 2K digital then bluray would be its best format.
After looking it up it was indeed shot on film, heres what i found
"Breaking Bad was shot on 35 mm movie film because of the robustness of the equipment and to keep a focus on shooting scenes economically. It also allowed for a later digital transfer to 4K Ultra HD resolution. By the end of the fifth season, episodes had cost upwards of US$6 million to produce."
Cause i know Netflix talked about the Breaking Bad episodes being on their streaming service in 4KUHD, i'd just love to see a nice big boxset put out of it in 4K.
"The tv series Better Call Saul, released in 2015, was shot on digital using Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4 Camera, Panasonic VariCam 35, Red Epic Dragon Camera, Red Helium (Weapon) 8K, Sony α7R II Camera and Angenieux Optimo 15-40mm T2.6 Lens, Angenieux Optimo 24-290mm T2.8 Lens, Angenieux Optimo 28-76mm T2.6 Lens, Angenieux Optimo 45-120mm T2.8 Lens and editing was done on the Avid Editing System."
Sucks they shot it on Digital and not film like Breaking Bad, just praying we get a 4K set of Breaking Bad at some point, all those beautiful outdoor shots in the dessert and everything would look gorgeous in 4K.
Film would have been better for Saul (I imagine the desert and courtroom scenes looking even better on film), but at least it was shot in 8K so it would be able to have a 4K release and an 8K release, if that ever becomes a viewable format, but sadly it would never have a resolution higher than 8K if monitors ever get to a higher resolution.
