I think it was either late season 1 or sometime through season 2 Hank put a tracker under Walt's car and it was never mentioned again or explained why. It was like it never happened (plot hole). Only thing I could think of was they were planning to end the show earlier with Hank finding out about Walt sooner but instead decided to keep the story going and forget about it. Maybe there was something I missed?

Hank never put a tracker on Walt's car until "Blood Money". You're getting things mixed up.

I wonder if you're thinking about the time Hank reached into the wheel wells of Walt's car when Walt went missing during his fake fugue state. Hank was looking for a spare key to Walt's car and found one there.

Thanks JaneCat! That had to have been it! I'm not sure why, but I thought for some reason Hank was putting a tracker under Walt's wheel well. I appreciate the answer though!
