Great finale

It hit all the right spots it was funny, emotional and left you with the feeling of closing.

Well done.

I only missed Sheldon's Mom - strange that they didn't at least "video-phone" her in.

I also loved the Beverly &
Howard
Leonard* wrap up two episodes earlier. Great work from both actors.

I will miss this show - but happy that it ended so well.

*(edit) Leonard of course --- names...

Me too. Very good ending it was.

I was annoyed. They were all prepared to abandon Sheldon (and Amy ) on the biggest day of their life because Sheldon was just being who he has ALWAYS been, and we as an audience were expected to sympathize with them.

After 12 Years Sheldon had it finally coming ;) Loved the slap!

But the point was, they weren't prepared to abandon him/them - they were just angry but changed their minds.

It was the finale puzzle piece to Sheldons grow as a person. Worked very well for me.

The only thing I didn't like, was Amy crying because of her picture - that was out of character - and missed the point of a woman winning the nobel --- still all about the looks ...

They could have found another motivation for her makeover.

reply

It could have been a lot better, but at least it was better than the ridiculous final episode of "Seinfeld".

The actress is very busy, currently playing Hillary Clinton on Broadway.

I thought it was all a fitting wrap-up to the show; I really enjoyed it.

I agree with the person who questioned Amy's sudden insecurity about her looks, and the consequent makeover. It's nice she got herself a better look, but the way it happened detracted from the positive message of a woman winning a science accolade for her mind alone, looks being unimportant.

Also would have liked to see Sheldon's mom.

Everyone getting so angry at Sheldon for what was his usual, normal, emotionally tone-deaf self was overblown and over the top silly and forced. Yes it caused him to realize how much he loved his friends, and put that in his speech, but the whole occasion by itself probably could have inspired him to those feelings too. I don't think the "We're so pissed off at your endless insensitivity that we're flying all the way back home" was necessary.

Except for Penny's pregnancy (typical TV trope), it was about what I would expect from a show that has been on the air for twelve years. The speech was very emotional, but they never gave us Penny's maiden name. I don't like the fact that they're still keeping it a mystery after teasing us about the reveal for years.

I encourage other posters on here to watch "Young Sheldon". The very last episode of the second season ties in with the "TBBT" series finale.

If you aren't a fan of the show or don't want to start watching from the beginning, at least check the clip tweeted here:

I'm so glad I watched this finale before watching Young Sheldon. They tied together beautifully. I was crying right along with Sheldon at the end (of Young Sheldon).

Definitely worth watching, even if you've never watched Young Sheldon before.
