Park in Cairo in the film

Looks like the botanical gardens near Aswan. I need to see the film to pinpoint the location but I'm pretty sure.

EDIT: Watched the movie. They don't leave the greater Cairo area. If I had to guess I'd say Al-Azhar park. I'm still unsure.

I second that, it's the Azhar Park. a must see!!!! featured in many arabic films for ages now.

guys, you will be surprised when i tell you what park that was. it was the Zoo in Giza. When the Zoo first opened, it was a park created just to show off it's beautiful ancient trees. Many years later it was transformed into a Zoo. yes, you don't see animals in the shot, but believe me, there are many areas of the Egyptian Zoo without animals. they're left like that for you to look at the wonderful trees. as you can see in the shot, many couples go there to that part of the Zoo cause it's rather quiet.

It is the Giza zoo.It was first established in the 19th century (1891 opening to public) as a Botanical Garden.It is one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Egypt apart from being a zoo.It could have never been Azhar park since Azhar park is new, while the scene shows trees hundreds of years old.

I actually emailed the production company and received a reply from the director/writer herself, surprising to me...
this is the gist of her info about the shooting location:

...for that scene we shot in Mohamed Ali Palace or also knows as Manial Palace. That was located in Manial. At the time, it was closed to the public because it was under renovation but they allowed us to shoot there and I must say, it was absolutely magical. The trees were over 500 years old -


she must know some pretty influential people in order to receive special favors like that...
