General peopel around the pyramids?

WOnder how they filmed the scenes by the pyramid...from what I recall there are lots of people by the pyramids ambling around.

I'd imagine they did it the same way any movie is filmed in a public place (public streets, subways, etc.). They either film at odd times, or get a permit and have an area blocked off from the public for a short time.

I think that in the story they're meant to get to Cairo after the wedding late at night. She invites him over for tea to her room and they wait till sunrise and on the spot of the moment they decide to go. Maybe when it's that early there aren't that many people. But yeah, generally it's all full of tourists, buses and people selling souvenirs.
