Almost like an Egyptian version of Before Sunset

Its an ok film, although I think it could have been better. Saddig could have played the part with a little more gusto, while not enough was done to show the true warmth and fun of the Egyptian people themselves. And anyone who knows Egyptians, or who have lived in Egypt, can tell you Egyptians are fun

It was not mentioned or very subtly portrayed that he knew she was taken, and had to let her make the first move, which she never did. So he seemed more distant to the viewer then he would have been if she was not married. we hardly ever see how courtship is portrayed in the arab world. for this there is more confusion on how there courtship developed. For all the bad things that are said about how women are treated in the arab world there are also some good and honorable things that are not portrayed.

To me an Egyptian version of In the Mood for Love. Even has the importance of vocal music.
