SPOILERISH! (plot points)

Just watched the movie on Showtime for the 1st time, but here's some of my impressions just from a storyline standpoint.

*Dash, then Eve and Matt went into bathroom to say 'Dead Mary' 3 times. Everyone heard loud noises while Eve was in there, so that's when she became possessed.That was her blood that Matt saw on the counter. Matt is killed. Everyone assumes Lily b/c she was outside but Lily said she saw Eve and Eve had admitted to Matt earlier that she was meat-eater and Matt's body had been chewed up.

*Matt is possessed, but as his body replenishes Kim bashes his head in w/ shovel and they burn his body the next morning for fuel b/c someone has emptied the fuel tanks (I'll get to this later). At this point, they think that Lily killed Matt and lock her up. They go to find weapons but no one trusts the other. Eve is possessed b/c she reveals it to Dash and then kills and possesses him and leaves him in the shed. They tie him up and Baker 'finishes' him off. Dash replenishes himself and then Amber comes in and burns him and herself realizing that her husband is gone 4ever and there is no hope for her either since she could soon be possessed and suffer the same fate as him.

*Kim kills Baker b/c Eve had possessed Baker when she attacked him. Kim asks Lily to let her in to the shed, but Lily won't. Baker had also asked Lily to let him in, but she wouldn't. I guess Lily thought that everyone was possessed at this point. Eve comes up and she and Kim have a standoff. Lily comes out of shed w/ shovel, then Kim points flare gun at Eve and pulls trigger. Kim also admits that she is the one who emptied the gas tanks. Fade to black.

All of the above are the scenes as I remember then, along w/ my interpretation of the storyline. The only things that still confuse me are this: (1) Why did Kim bash Matt's head in so quickly? I mean, I know that he was seemingly gone, but this is the guy she supposedly had loved for a long time and he was replenishing himself? It just seems like she was very quick to do him in. (2) Why did Kim empty all the gas tanks? Was it to trap the possessed spirit so they couldn't get away to wreak havoc in the general population so they could end it right there. Also, (3) Kim said that she actually had seen Dead Mary before they went into the bathroom to start the game and she seemed serious, but later she said that it was just a game. Why the 180? Was she lying about having seen her? Seems like all my questions are directed towards Kim. Interesting!

I think you got everything right. The film does leave the viewer with a lot of questions. And particularly about Kim. I did think that she bashed Matt's head in a little quickly, they were still very early in trying to figure out what was going on. They needed to develop that a little more before she went to that extreme. And why did she empty the gas tanks? The first thing I'd do, is drive the hell out of there. And I didn't understand the 180 on the game either, I'm guessing she was just joking the first time around.

I liked the film, I had no clue what it was about, just started watching it thinking it was going to be like Candyman, with Dead Mary showing up and killing everybody off, but instead it turns into this possession/apocalyptic type film. I think they needed to develop that some more as well, they hint at it, with there being nobody at the gas station, and mention that they haven't seen anybody at the lake. But maybe when Baker and the girls go looking for somebody, they actually find someone, who doesn't trust them on sight, because they've been through the same thing. Just to add a little more to the it's happening everywhere theme.

An interesting film, that needed more to make it really special.

Cuz he was saying horrible things, and tho he was replenishing himself, she was able to clearly see that he wasn't the "same person". And maybe she was still mad about the break up thing.

She didn't. When they were trying to start the cars Eve makes a comment about the cars, she says " well that makes all 3" ( meaning all three of the cars were dead.)Kim never admitted to draining the gas, the convo with her and Eve goes something like this.

Eve: Is that gas I smell?
Kim: Yeah, 3 tanks worth.

Which leads me to believe she was almost mocking and reprising what Eve had said earlier. Not that she was the one, but that Eve was the one, she was letting Eve know(in case she already didn't)that she was on to her.

They are directed toward her cuz she is the leading role. Of course she seemed serious, she was drunk and everyone was trying to one up everyone else by freaking everyone out. They knew it was just a game. They were trying to relive their youth if you will. Besides don't forget shes not the only one that swears up and down she has seen dead mary, Amber and Eve say the very same thing.

Kim emptied the gas tanks on the body of Brice and the area around him I am assuming. Eve appears and stands next to him and she is shot with the fiery flare gun by Kim...

what confuses me is what happened to Lilly while in the woods for so long? and why did she go out late at night right before Matt gets whacked? i wish they did a better job with the script cause then it would have been much scarier

I alway assume that since Kim said she had seen Dead Mary prior to the bathroom scene, she was the first one infected . She was the one who infected the others at some point.

I am unsure as to what exactly what went on. It was hard to understand.
