SPOILER dont read this if you havent seen the movie please

Here is what I came away from it after just watching again for the umpteenth time. I tend to let my imagination run away with loose ends and come up with suppositions based on minor details I string together.

1) As has been pointed about before the gas station was abandoned. Obviously it was in fact up and running with no one at the helm. Anyone who has ever worked near gas pumps knows that you don’t leave them active when your away I am placing bets based on the condition of the gas sign and the type they don’t have credit card pumps. So odds are it is pay at the counter in the sticks as usual so someone should have been there if it was active.

2) Next Ted probably is the one who infected Eve I the script was either edited at some point or altered and never carried through. After all that is the guy who’s cabin it supposed to be and he never shows up but the cabin is unlocked for the weekend. That would be my next guess if grabbed her through the bathroom window because it takes them what seems like forever to get to her after that initial thump. Plenty of time if he doesn’t damage her too badly to heal back up considering how fast those head wounds healed on Dash’s face.

3) Ok another thing and I don’t remember which of the demonic/undead/possessed say this but they reference that it isn’t just there this happening but everywhere. I am pretty sure it was the Dash one when he tied to a chair. They seem to be telepathic to a degree since they have info they shouldn’t have about the others so it might be possible they are aware of the other monstrosity’s doings. That one is very thin I know I am really stretching it on the telepathic thing since only seems to happen like twice. Once in the woods with the Matt thing knows about Amber and baker getting it on. Also the Dash thing in the woodshed.

Over all there are some other things I think this could have been an A league movie if they had flushed the plot out a bit more and maybe with 10 or so more minutes of plot supposition. If they had made it more a global thing and left it hanging with the survivors heading out to find out what is happening in the world. Rather than what the hell really happened like they did. This is all just one persons opinion by the way oh one last thing it is nice they don’t try to explain exactly what the ‘things’ are it takes up back to Alien and so for when they didn’t try to explain ever damn detail and left it up to our own imaginations to supply ideas. Though in this case they do need to tie up those loose ends that I already pointed out while leaving what people are turning into as a mystery.

Oh one last thing I am betting the regeneration thing isn’t conscious I bet if you cut one of them they regenerate right then and there like the rest were. So if everyone cut themselves slightly since it A. a small cut even for us we heal in a day or 2 for them should heal right away almost instantly so easy to test people for being one of those things. Have them stand at a distance and cut their skin on a knife, rock or whatever. If it heals before your eyes ‘thing’ if not human still almost forgot to include that in my first post.

The movie reminds me of the movie "The Thing". However, I like your idea, and I agree . They could have test each person by just cutting them ,and seeing how fast they heal (Like Highlander).

This movie tried to be too ambitious. It threw in elements from The Thing, The Shining, the Living Dead movies, The Blair Witch Project, and Candyman. That was too many ideas to toss into a horror film potboiler, and neither the direction nor the acting could make this muddled mess a cohesive whole. I just have to think there's a Director's Cut out there that explains what's going on on screen a bit better. Of course what I saw left me with no interest in seeing this film again, so assuming a Director's Cut does exist, I'll never see it.

Yeah, I actually like the ambiguity of this flick. If they explain too much, then it doesn't bear repeated viewing, which I think this flick does. But the low rating on this site seems to nullify that opinion!
