What a cast!
I loved every one of the readers, Strathairn most of all.
Trumbo would have been extremely flattered.
Who was your favorite?

I'm stuck, either Michael Douglas or Paul Giamatti.
But then Josh Lucas was cool too.
And the letter David Straithairn reads out, the one to the principal, nearly has me in tears every time.
Strathairn and Giamatti. The former is a class act in every way and gave a dignified and extraordinary reading of some of Trumbo's most important words, but Giamatti's renditions (especially of the telephone company correspondence) had me in stitches. Which is not to say that any of the cast was chopped liver. They were all wonderful in different ways.
PS--If you haven't already seen the two extra letter readings on the DVD, by Giamatti and Danny Glover, don't miss them.
