THAT Spoilerrific Death Needed to Happen
How come it feels sometimes like I'm shouting into a void when I point out how perfect L's death actually is within the context of the series?
Without going into too much detail, which is a habit of mine, can no one else see how perfect it is, thematically, for Light to be struck out by his nemesis from beyond the grave? He thought killing his greatest foe meant he won, but it didn't. Not even close, not even after more than a decade. And it's extra humiliating for him to be taken down - literally - by people he respects far, far less. L's death might have been a sad end for him to meet, but it ensures Light gets exactly what he deserves at his end, and shows (ironically) how killing people does not make problems go away.
