Edward Snowden's intentions.. Light Yagami or L ?
I thought it would be interesting to discuss or compare the intentions of former contractor for the United States government, Edward Snowden, who copied and leaked classified information to several different sources, to either Light Yagami, or L.
I'm talking only in terms of ethics and basic moral beliefs. You would certaintly be right in saying he went to massive lengths to fight the state under surveillance and redeem our basic freedom and privacy, whilst acquiring classified information to counter and expose the corporate giant (I personally see his actions as extremely noble and honourable).
But, is it worth debating that it may be possible that some of his decisions in managing and/or distributing the information he has and leaks isn't altered in some way to fit any biases he and/or his colleagues/journalists may have? And what would that mean for the future of Snowden supporters?
P.S. Just to be clear, I am no expert on the subject! There probably is a clear answer to this in the 'Citizenfour' documentary but I haven't got around to watching it yet. For some odd reason his name came to mind after watching this anime and I just wanted to see what peoples views of him were and to look at this important issue from different perspectives..
