shareIt is a strange murder. I think maybe the killer is afraid of being seen by her. The body count in Season 5 is rather high comparing to other seasons.
shareYes, the girl concerned was called Samantha Coyle and, incidentally she was a student - not a schoolgirl. It was she who had discovered the body of the first murder victim, Poppy Toynton, at the foot of the stairs when she was asked to go and retrieve the wrap for professor Diana Ellerby on the night of the gaudy. After Samantha's murder, her heartbroken boyfriend tells the police that she thought she had heard somebody at the top of the stairs on that occasion. Presumably this was the murderer and he or she must have suspected they'd been seen by Samantha and that, later, she might have been able to identify them. Therefore they killed her hoping to avoid detection for the first murder.
