Why do people come to a show's boards to complain repeatedly instead of just not watching it and moving on to something else? Out of morbid curiosity I counted 9 topics started by sandcrab. I think that deserves troll status.

Greetings, CelticWolff!

I -for one - believe that people who have (what often feels like a serious pathological need) to constantly complain are like small children who have seriously been deprived of positive attention from those who are supposed to love them. They have not been loved for whatever reason and are socially stunted, never learning how to engage with others appropriately so they can receive positive feedback and perhaps become loved and loving in return. It is very sad. Others just love to annoy and take pleasure in drawing attention simply because everything is about them, including angry people who resent their serious affliction of obstreperousness.

Over the past few years I have stopped responding to repeat offenders because they are showing up merely to count hits from people who believe they may be able to help. Like them, I used to believe if I could clarify whatever I thought might be missing in the thread, it would bring a positive results. It has been like thinking that each time I watch Sleeping Beauty she won't not bite into the poisoned apple.

These individuals use their comments like click bait in the same way that sleazy reporters use the names of certain celebrities, even though there may be nothing relevant in their articles. What helps me is to bar the offenders so that I do not make the mistake again in thinking that s/he is a genuine person rather than some who is condemn to mocking others and being resented in return. Why bother? 

On the other hand, while CyberSpace may indeed be endless, I have found that some IMDb boards offer wonderful opportunities to connect with other like-minded people or with those who are charmingly different. Those differences can be like a polishing grade of sandpaper that provides an excellent dermabrasion for removing misunderstandings, emotional stains, etc., and often creates a smoother attitude finish that shines out of the dusk of formerly foggy feeling and thinking.

So, CW, your quote contains the phrase: the point of no return. Have you ever heard the song by that title from the 2004 Phantom of the Opera with Gerard Butler? Who is the person that is listed in the quote and why are you using it? I suffer from an addiction to curiosity of wondering why people have chosen their salutations.

oh, off topic of the OP, I finally got to watch the last episode of Inspector Lewis yesterday and loved it. It feels like a family friend literally has moved to New Zealand and there will be no contact ever again, except for old videos. That is the curse and the blessing, isn't it?

A well put response. One thing: Sleeping Beauty was the spinning wheel, Snow White was the poisoned apple.

The quote is from Terry Pratchett's book "Making Money" in his Discworld series. It is about a reformed con man who was previously coerced into being Post Master of the city and is now pushed into running the city's mint and being Vice Chairman of the bank.

I have only heard a couple songs from "Phantom" but not that one. I will check it out on YouTube. I forgot to add this. Terry Pratchett has a novel in the Discworld series called "Maskerade" that is influenced by Phantom of the Opera.

And the finale was very good. I am hoping for a continuation of the story with DI Hathaway and DS Maddox. I've always wanted a crossover with Midsomer Murders. ITV should have done it when Kevin Whatley and Neil Dudgeon were both still starring.
