HONEYSUCKLE WEEKS

I recognized her from FOYLE'S WAR, but I thought perhaps she had been ill recently . She didn't look well; I know the role called for anguish, totally different from her exuberant young persona in FOYLE, but I was sorry to see her looking so gaunt. Anyone else share that feeling?

No wonder she went missing in July.

MISSING STAR FOUND SAFE
by Danny Collins for The Sun Online, 29th July 2016, 4:55 pm

FOYLE’S War actress Honeysuckle Weeks was found safe and well last night after disappearing from a psychiatric hospital for 24 hours and sparking police search. Investigators had voiced concerns for the 36-year-old's safety after she disappeared on Thursday.

The mum-of-one was a voluntary patient at a centre near her home in Petworth, West Sussex, and went missing on Thursday night. Cops said she was found safe and well at a relative’s address in London at about 8pm, and that person called police.

A spokesman said: “She remained with police as of 10.45pm on Friday, prior to being returned to West Sussex.”

Her sister Perdita thanked well-wishers and confirmed she had been found “safe and sound” on Twitter.

The 36-year-old had last been seen in Chichester, West Sussex, at 9pm last night. Her family alerted police one hour later who confirmed she had recently spoken about “feeling anxious”. She is understood to have been seeking psychiatric treatment in recent weeks.

Detective Kate Witt said in a statement: “We are concerned about Honeysuckle as her recent behavior has concerned family and friends and she has expressed to them she is feeling anxious. Although she travels around a lot and has links in London and has family in Wiltshire, it is unlike her not to be in touch with family."

“If you read this Honeysuckle, please get in touch to let us know you are ok.”

Describing her appearance, Det Witt added: “She is around 5’4″ with cropped gingery blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a blue anorak and faded blues jeans.”
Sussex Police also tweeted a picture of the actress with an appeal to the public to help trace her.

A caption read: “Pls RT to help find missing #Petworth woman Honeysuckle Weeks.”

Cardiff-born Honeysuckle has starred as Samantha Stewart in ITV drama Foyle's War since 2002. The Oxford-educated actress has a young son Wade with hypnotherapist husband Lorne Stormonth-Darling.

If this article is taken apart for the facts, not opinions and hearsay, I read that Honeysuckle had been feeling anxiety, which carries with it bouts of insomnia (I am speaking from experience), and extreme tiredness that does not improve feeling of anxiety. In our world at this time, "anxiety" is a common issue. She went for help to a psychiatric hospital; the next day decided to leave, which was her right as an adult person who had not been legally committed by a court.

So, she was there for 24 hours, decided to leave, and went to a family members home. It sounds like that person notified the police when it was discovered that they were looking for her, which was because she had not informed all of the family of her decisions.

This issue may be very personal in terms of spousal issues and not due to mental illness. There is no information to make a hypothesis, yet - speaking again from experience and a long-term reader of Sherlock - the answers are often simple matters found in front of us though observation and deduction. Sometime the people closest to us might not be the ones to help us.

I worked for a year with as an office partner with hypnotherapist. He enjoyed "practicing" his techniques on me during business hours when he did not have clients. I caught on quickly and asked him to stop, to which he replied that it was just fun and that I was being defensive. I told him that his behavior was unacceptable, that I would leave any room in which this happened if he acted unprofessionally again. After two of three days he realized I was serious and stopped. He was a far better colleague and friend when he acted like one and we got along well.

At the same time, I was personally involved with a man who was also a hypnotherapist. He never used his therapy skills with me. So I know what it is to have similar professionals in close relationship.

None of this is a projection on Ms. Weeks' situation. It is simply that newspapers take bits and pieces of a situation and normally twist them to suit the reading public. The entertainment industry can be a challenging environment in itself; young children have many needs and balancing them with work and marriage requirements can be tough in an unforgiving world. We have no knowledge of the busyness and/or pressure in other peoples lives. As for losing weight, film studios require it often now, so that could be a reason, though a selfish, unhealthy one on any studio's part.

Just some reflections because you folks sound like thoughtful, kind people. Perhaps we can send our prayers and positives energy to this lovely young woman and hope the best for her and those who love her.
