Endeavour is the 1960's and Moorse was supposed to be current so what does that make Lewis / 50 - 60 or older or what ? Anyone have any ideas. Thanks

shareYes, it's contemporary. Lewis is a little old to still be working as a policeman, but, like Morse before him, he feels ill-suited to retirement.
shareEndeavor began in the mid-60s and is currently in 1967. The show looks to continue for a while; they began filming the next series some weeks ago.
Morse began in 1987 and went through to 2000. There are 33 episodes to enjoy repeatedly as well as the 13 books.
Lewis started in 2006 and ended last year, although the US has just gotten the final series on Sunday, which was their 33rd episode also. Kevin Whately did not want to film more shows than Morse had. He apparently felt that it would not be honoring to John Thaw's memory as they were very close friends.
Kevin is now 65 and wants to do special projects so the has plenty of time for his family and his grandchildren. He feels like he has given enough time to others and wants a larger share for his loved one without totally leaving the business. Such a lovely person!

Kevin whatley is 65, but I imagine Lewis is perhaps meant to be a few years you ger than that. Becuase he didn't become an inspector in that case until he was nearly 50 , which seems rather old.
