Police Constable / Detective Constable

In the credits Julie Lockhart is sometimes called a Police Constable, in other episodes a Detective Constable. Is there a difference?

English is not my first language. Any corrections are welcome.

I don't know who Julie Lockhart is? A police constable usually wears a uniform and usually patrols the streets and can be on call for any emergency. A detective constable wears plain clothes, and gets called in to investigate in more detail.
