Things I noticed after watching several times

Anyone notice mr Wilkins gave his jack o lantern to the kids? Is that why Sam killed him?

Also...the school bus story makes no sense. It said that the bus driver was never heard from again..but he's been living in the same town for years it seems?? He never left? How could a community be ok with a murderer living there? I didn't get that part.

Mr. Wilkins was killed by Laurie not Sam

Uh yeah I've seen this movie idk how many times and I still don't get that either. He's never heard from again so the storyteller says but it's clear he still lives in town SO maybe he left town and came back...which I know doesn't make much sense either lol but I honestly don't get it. Also if that was the case-like they really never heard from him again-then I don't think it would have been seen as murder but an accident especially since the parents paid him to kill the kids.

Technically Kreeg never killed anyone, he only conspired with the parents to do so. It was that Dracula kid who drove the truck down the quarry. Also, Macy only said that the part with the bus (driving down the quarry) was true, it was implied that she meant the whole story but you could easily cover that plot hole by saying she added the "Never heard from again" for effect. Or Kreeg could have called in the "accident" after it happened and, if he was prosecuted, change his identity.

Most if not all of the kills in the film happens outside the protection of the jack o lanterns. Many scenes specifically focus on the connection between breaking the "rules" and being attacked, even though some kills (like Wilkins) are more far-fetched (as in he was killed because he gave away his lantern and the went out). Kreeg would be the exception to this since he was killed anyway, but his lanterns was made by Sam.

Yes seemed like the ones who didn't have jack o lanterns were killed. Wilkins gave his away and was later killed. But I don't think any of the kids besides Macy kicked jacks lanterns into the water? I guess they were with her though so still died with her.

I didn't get why Sam let Kreeg live. He saw the candy bar, but Kreeg only had it because some kids dropped it.

When the kids did their bit to scare Rhonda they all had one lantern each, they blew them out for effect when she went down the elevator. I believe the one by the lake was the last one lit outside of the elevator.

I believe Sam attacked Kreeg for not respecting the trick or treat tradition, remember the text on the wall said "Trick or treat, trick or treat, give me something good to eat" after the children's song and the attack was roght after he scared off the trick or treaters. Sam got the piece of candy and could no longer punish Kreeg, that's just speculation from my part though.

reply

It still makes no sense to me because Kreeg didn't offer Sam the candy or anything,,it was just there lol

reply

Agreed, Sam clearly stopped fighting when he received the candy so that must be the reason he attacked. As for Kreeg living in the same town, he's clearly a complete hermit and probably doesn't interact with anyone, plus nobody involved in the plot is going to point out "hey, that's the guy!" since they're all just as guilty as he is.

Kreeg was killed at the end by the children from the bus.Wilkins was killed because he was an *beep* killer that made the mistake of following a werewolf on Halloween and having the nerve to bite her!She had enough and made her first kill.It had nothing to do with the pumpkin. It was a play on Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf, except this time Red WAS the wolf. Also,Wilkins gave away his pumpkin,he didn't blow it out. There are no rules against giving away a pumpkin.

reply

Also, remember that Sam only attacks those who disobey the rules of Halloween, which Wilkins was not. Wilkins instead fell victim to a group of mass murdering female werewolves, one of which he attacked but had no idea what he was missing with. Since the werewolves didn't violate Halloween's rules either, Sam could nothing but watch Wilkins get murdered, even if it means losing someone who closely follows the rules. If the werewolves had violated the rules before Wilkins died, Sam would've then murdered them right then and there with Wilkins possibly surviving and traumatized or would still die from blood loss due to his leg injury.

Welcome to my Nightmare- Freddy Krueger

The way I see the mr kregg thing is that the parents were very well connected , possibly a mayor or judge and could get him off easily , plus the quote "some say that the town didn't want to find the bus" and it's not like the parents would have caused a fuss over their dirty secrets - similar to the parents in nightmare on elm street
