great, just great

fist citi of god, then citi of men and now tropa de elite. im starting to realy like, love the brazilian cinema. just saw tropa de elite and i was blown away by its realism, gripping sorry telling and great characters that are real, lovable and sometimes hate able. there is something special, something strange with these brazilian movies that almost feels as if your are watching a documentary and not a movie, becuse its made so real. so what im trying to say is thank god for brazzilian moviemakers. what do you guys think of this movie as a whole?

Absolutely marvelous film that I feel truly proud to have watched.
You're right this film is very much in the vein of City of God, where the viewer is being educated about the social lessons on the the streets of Rio; and this feels a lot like watching a documentary.
But the utter gripping tension, and the brutal sense of realist machiavellian approach succeeding for individuals is truly what makes this film tick. This is one of the finest films of the last five years surely...and deserves a hell of a lot of praise in the future!

I saw it this weekend! Like City of God it was one of the best movies I have ever seen! I had heard about this movie for over a year and it was well worth the wait! I am shocked it is only showing in one theater in the country right now!

Totally rocked, indeed. I enjoyed the way it showed how corruption is a more natural state of man, easier, not harder. And really, in that world, both are gangs.
