Didn't quite get what makes this movie great...

... I did, however, feel that this is one of those movies you have to watch atleast twice to really enjoy it, so I will.

My objections against this movie being one of the best movies ever (which it's been hyped up to be here in norway), are a bit... unspecific, but my main problem is it was too fast paced. I was tired the day I watched it, but even so, I felt the first half was too fast paced and confusing. That cop is fixing cars, and that cop is dirty, but so is the other cop, so... well, hope you ge tmy point

I felt they wanted to show us how *beep* up the system is, but I feel they could have done it better

The latter part I enjoyed. Especially from a military point of view, but I never felt it really grabbed me by the balls and kicked me in the stomach...

Not saying it wasn't good, because it was. Just saying I didn't think it waa GREAT

I agree...this movie is good, but not that good. Certainly it's not "City of God" with cops. In style only, maybe. But the characterization was pretty shallow, even with the captain. The ending was very anti-climactic...I'm not talking about action wise, I'm talking psychologically. I did not feel at all that Andre had completed some kind of long journey, from where he started to what he does in the final scene. There was no suspense at all in my mind to what he would do, so when the movie ended abruptly...well, it was very anti climactic. It was if Godfather ended with Michael Corelone shooting Sollozzo.
